The institutional system of the European Union is based on seven chief institutions: the European Parliament, the European Council, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, European Court of Justice, the European Court of Auditors and the European Central Bank and on auxiliary bodies: the Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee.
The institutions listed above carry out the tasks commissioned by the European Union, coordinating the process of European integration, adopting the community law and setting new goals aimed at full European union.
