The theme of the 5th European Equality Summit will be the “Implementation of equality policies at the regional and local level”. "The role of independent entities involved in the implementation of equality policies” will constitute its introductory panel.
Debates will be conducted on the following subjects:
1. Equality as a factor in regional development.
2. Boosting regional and local partnership.
3. Effective use of EU funds at the regional and local level to implement anti-discrimination policies addressed to minorities, including the Roma people.
The closing panel will summarise the theme-based panels.
The 5th European Equality Summit will bring together delegations form the 27 EU Member States and EEA countries, as well as NGO representatives. The European Commission and other EU institutions will also be represented at the event. An Informal Meeting of Equality Ministers will also take place during the Summit.
