Conclusion of a new Protocol setting out the fishing opportunities and financial contribution provided for in the Fisheries Partnership Agreement.
Minister Counsellor Karolina Ostrzyniewska, the Polish Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU representing the Presidency of the Council of the EU and Ambassador Maria de Jesus Mascarenhas, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cape Verde to the EU, signed a new Protocol setting out fishing opportunities and financial contribution in the framework of the Fisheries Partnership Agreements today (27th July 2011).
Under these agreements the EU provides third countries with technical and financial support to develop their fishing sector, gaining at the same time access to the so called “surplus” of resources in their Exclusive Economic Zones. The new Protocol is signed for a period of three years. It provides sectoral support amounting to 435 000 Euro per year.
