10October 2011Mon, 00:00

On the occasion of Poland's presidency of the European Union in the second half of 2011, Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Poland will hold a conference which is to be a platform for consultations between the EU and selected key countries to the process in the run-up to the Rio+20 conference in 2012.

Green economy is a tool for achieving sustainable development. The ways towards green economy
may vary. The conference in Warsaw will  be a forum for exchanging experience and best
national, regional and local practices in harnessing green economy ideas that will serve for
elaborating specific solutions which in turn may be adopted at the Rio Conference.

The second message of the event will be to present EU Environment Council conclusions from in October 10th and discuss practical examples presented by some Member States and key countries to the Rio+20process, whose presentations may give political guidance and set the tone for a debate around the way forward to green economy and supporting the Rio+20 process.
